State-Level Catholic Youth Festival to Be Held in Karwar

Karwar, Sept. 25:
The campus of St. Joseph’s College in Karwar will host the State-level Catholic Youth Festival from October 2 to 5, announced college principal Stany Pinto at a press conference on Thursday.

Held under the theme “Youth Walk with Hope”, the festival will bring together Catholic youth from 13 dioceses across Karnataka. More than 1,200 participants have already registered, Pinto said.

The event is being organized in collaboration with the Karnataka Regional Youth Commission. Registrations will begin on the morning of October 2, followed by the inaugural Holy Mass at 3 p.m., celebrated by Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar Diocese. The second Mass will be led by Dr. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary.

Daily sessions from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. will feature spiritual reflections, leadership training, discussions on social issues, interfaith dialogues with Hindu and Muslim leaders, as well as programs on social service and friendship.

On October 5, a Peace Rally will be held in Karwar city, after which the concluding Mass will be celebrated by Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore. Food and accommodation have been arranged for all participants, the organizers confirmed.

Youth Director Dr. Silver Rodrigues, Sister Alphonsa, Dr. Wilson, Raston Gonsalves, James Fernandes, Lilo Liyes, and Martha Lobo were also present at the press meet.
