Karwar, September 27, 2025 – In a significant move, the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has announced a reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, presenting a revolutionary gift to the people of India ahead of the Dussehra and Diwali festivals. This historic decision is aimed at providing economic relief to citizens and promoting the use of indigenous products.

To mark this occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Karwar City Mandal organized a celebratory event and awareness campaign in Karwar. The event was attended by Lok Sabha member Shri Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri and Legislative Council member Shri Ganapati Ulvekar, who highlighted the benefits of the GST rate reduction for the common people.

The program commenced with a puja at the Siddhivinayak Temple, followed by a vibrant celebration organized by the Karwar Mandal. As part of the awareness campaign, party leaders and workers visited various shops in the local market to engage with shopkeepers and customers.
