
Bhandari Women’s Association Celebrates Navratri in Karwar with Honors and Cultural Lessons for Children

Karwar, October 3, 2025 – The Bhandari Women’s Association organized a special Navratri event on October 2 at the Bhandari Community Hall in Kodibag, Karwar, marked by the felicitation of notable figures and an emphasis on imparting cultural values to children.
Led by the association’s president, Chaya Javkar, the event featured vibrant celebrations and meaningful discussions. Former president K.D. Pednekar inaugurated the program, stressing that “instilling moral values and discipline in children is a societal responsibility.” Taluk Block Congress president Arvind Kalgutkar highlighted the importance of women’s organizations as a unifying force, while municipal council president Raviraj C. Ankolekar noted that honoring dignitaries during Navratri reflects community unity.
Sujata Javkar, Karwar’s education coordinator and BRC officer, delivered insights on the significance of education and the need to bridge societal divides. BK Kavita Behanji, director of the Brahma Kumaris institution, elaborated on the spiritual essence of Navratri, stating, “Meditating on the divine helps subdue the five internal vices, embodying the true spirit of Navratri.”
The event saw participation from municipal council members Sneha Manjrekar, Sujata Tamse, and Suhani Patil, alongside rural association leaders, former municipal presidents, vice-presidents, college lecturers, and high school teachers. Hundreds of artists performed traditional Dandiya and Garba dances, adding cultural vibrancy to the festivities.
