Haliyal’s Wrestler  Manjunath Nagendra Goudappan wins ‘Dasara Kesari 2025’ title

Karwar, Uttara Kannada – September 29, 2025 – In the thrilling Dasara Wrestling Competition held as part of the Mysore Dasara festivities from September 26 to 28, Pehlwan Manjunath Nagendra Goudappan from Dhusagi village in Uttara Kannada district clinched the top spot in the 74-86 kg category, earning the prestigious “Dasara Kesari 2025” title.

Over the three-day grueling event, Manjunath Goudappan delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing his prowess and determination.

In the first round, he defeated Gajadesh from Belagavi with a decisive 10-0 margin.

The second round saw him triumph over Yogesh Goud from Davanagere, again by 10-0.

In the third round, he secured a 10-0 victory against Ramanna Kalagatkar from Uttara Kannada.

The fourth round brought a pinfall win over Dyanesh Galgali from Davanagere.

Finally, in a nail-biting 30-minute final match, Manjunath overcame Dharwad’s Paramanand Pehlwan with a 4-2 score, claiming the Dasara Kesari crown.

The victorious pehlwan was felicitated by former wrestlers and MLA R.V. Devanur Mahadeshwara, who extended their congratulations and best wishes.
