Karwar (Karnataka) In a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, the Karwar Photographers’ Association conducted a beach cleanup drive at Karwar Beach starting at 6:30 AM on Thursday. The initiative, part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, saw enthusiastic participation from the association’s members, who rolled up their sleeves to restore the pristine beauty of the coastal landmark.

The event didn’t stop at environmental action. Following the cleanup, the group extended their community outreach by distributing essential grocery items to a needy family in the Kodibag area, embodying Gandhi’s principles of service and compassion.

The program was inaugurated by local social worker Shri Shrikant Nayak, who delivered an inspiring address on the significance of collective effort and social responsibility. “Such initiatives remind us of the value of labor and our duty toward society,” Nayak said, urging others to follow suit in fostering community welfare.

The event was graced by key members of the association, including Honorary President Suraj Joglekar, President Shri Santana Fernandes, Vice President Ravikant Nayak, Secretary Jaiprakash Gosavi, Treasurer Sainath Nayak, and District Vice President Anant Pai, alongside other dedicated members. Their collective effort underscored the power of community-driven initiatives in promoting both environmental stewardship and social good.
