Yellow Alert: Caution Issued Along Uttara Kannada Coast

A yellow alert has been issued for Uttara Kannada district until October 2, with the district administration urging the public and fishermen to exercise caution.
According to forecasts by the India Meteorological Department and the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, Bengaluru, the alert has been issued due to the likelihood of cloudy conditions and increased wave activity in coastal taluks. The district administration has issued the following directives:
Fishing using small and medium-sized boats is prohibited.
Fishermen and the public are advised not to venture into sea areas.
Tourists are prohibited from entering rivers, reservoirs, or sea waters.
No recreational activities should be conducted near the seashore.
Parents are urged to ensure children do not go near the seashore.
Due to the possibility of danger from moderate rainfall, accompanied by strong winds and intense waves in some areas, officials have emphasized that it is critical for the public to adopt safety measures during this period.
